Rabbi Shmuel Cohen is the spiritual leader of the Jewish Algarve community, bringing deep Torah learning and many years of international community experience.

Born and raised in Jerusalem, Rabbi Cohen studied in leading yeshivot before continuing at Kollel Dayanut in Netivot, where he also served as Av Bayit for yeshiva students. His background reflects strong Torah foundations alongside a warm and approachable teaching style.

For over a decade, Rabbi Cohen lived within the Jewish communities of London, including Golders Green and Hendon. During this time, he was involved in Jewish outreach, Torah teaching, Shabbat hospitality, and cantorial service, and also gained experience serving as a mashgiach with the KLBD.

Rabbi Cohen and his family later moved to Portugal, where he serves the Jewish Community of the Algarve with joy, warmth, and dedication, guided by the belief that every Jew carries a unique mission and strength within the world.
