Dear friends,
Parashat Vayelech is incredibly short with just 30 verses, but it comes at such a meaningful time.
Moshe knows that he is not allowed to enter the Promised Land, and yet his calm acceptance is profound.
He doesn't resist the reality that his role is ending. He doesn’t cling to power and leadership.
Instead, he focuses on strengthening others, on giving Yehoshua the confidence to step up, and the people the reassurance that Hashem is with them.
Parashat Vayelech always falls during the Ten Days of Teshuvah, which are between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. These days are all about introspection and transition. Like Moshe, we’re asked to let go. To let go of grudges, old habits, missed opportunities and step into a new year with humility and hope.
And just like Moshe passes the torch to Yehoshua, we’re invited during these days to pass on light: to uplift others, to support our community, and to become better versions of ourselves.
As we stand between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur we wish for everybody to have the courage to let go, the humility to change, and the faith to move forward into a year of growth and peace.
Shabbat Shalom and Gmar Chatimah Tovah!
